Vellum Plugin End User License Agreement

Last updated October 13, 2026.

This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you and VellumDev, a sole proprietorship based in the State of Nevada, United States ("Vellum", "we", "us"), for the Vellum plugin. By downloading, installing, copying or running the plugin, you agree to this EULA. If you do not agree, do not download, install or run it. Disputes under this EULA are resolved by binding individual arbitration under Section 21 of the Terms of Service, including its class action waiver and its 30-day right to opt out.

Vellum is NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT. It is NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT.

1. Definitions

  • "Plugin" means the Vellum plugin software for Minecraft servers, in object code form, including its Java archive (jar) files, embedded resources, the Studio files it embeds, configuration templates, documentation, and every update, patch and new version we provide.
  • "Server" means a Minecraft server instance that you own, operate or administer, whether on your own hardware or with a hosting provider.
  • "Service" and "Terms" have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
  • "Your content" has the meaning given in the Terms.

2. Relationship to the Terms

This EULA governs the Plugin as software. The Terms of Service govern your use of the Service the Plugin connects to, and are incorporated into this EULA. If they conflict, this EULA controls on the licence to the Plugin, and the Terms control on everything else. Linking the Plugin to the Service requires a Vellum account and acceptance of the Terms.

3. Licence grant

3.1 What you may do. Subject to your continued compliance with this EULA and the Terms, Vellum grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to download, install and run the Plugin, in object code form and without modification, on Servers you own, operate or administer, solely to create, load and run content for those Servers, and to make a reasonable number of copies of the Plugin for backup and for installing it on those Servers.

3.2 Number of Servers. The number of Servers that may be linked to the Service at one time is set by your plan, as stated on the Pricing Page. You must not use the Plugin, alone or with any other software or technique, to link, operate or serve more Servers than your plan allows.

3.3 Server networks and hosts. If you administer a Server for someone else (for example as a staff member, contractor or host), you may install and run the Plugin on that Server on their behalf only if the Server's owner has accepted this EULA and the Terms; the owner is responsible for that Server's use of the Plugin. A hosting provider may offer a one-click installation of the unmodified Plugin downloaded from our official channels, but may not bundle, modify or redistribute the Plugin otherwise without our written permission.

4. Restrictions

Except as expressly permitted by this EULA, or to the extent the law that applies to you expressly permits it despite this restriction (see Section 5), you must not, and must not help, allow or encourage anyone else to:

  • decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, protocols, file formats, cryptographic keys or internal structure of the Plugin or any part of it;
  • deobfuscate, de-minify, unpack or reconstruct any part of the Plugin that we distribute in obfuscated, minified, compressed or packed form, or remove or bypass that obfuscation;
  • modify, patch, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the Plugin, including by bytecode manipulation, class transformation, instrumentation, runtime hooking, mixins or agents that alter its behaviour;
  • disable, circumvent, remove, tamper with or work around any licence check, pairing, credential, authentication, plan limit, seat limit, server limit, usage limit, rate limit, version check or other technical protection or restriction in the Plugin or the Service;
  • use the Plugin to access the Service other than through the interfaces the Plugin exposes, or use any software other than the Plugin to impersonate the Plugin, a linked Server or a Server credential towards the Service;
  • copy, distribute, publish, upload, share, mirror, rent, lease, lend, sell, resell, sublicense, transfer or otherwise make the Plugin available to anyone, except as Section 3 allows, including on any plugin marketplace, repository, file-sharing site, leak forum or server software bundle;
  • remove, alter or obscure any copyright, trademark, licence or other proprietary notice in or on the Plugin;
  • extract, reuse or redistribute any file, asset, resource, interface, embedded Studio code or data from the Plugin separately from the Plugin;
  • use the Plugin, any part of it, or any knowledge obtained from examining it to develop, train, improve or offer a product or service that competes with Vellum or that replicates the Plugin's or the Service's functionality;
  • publish or disclose the results of any security testing of the Plugin, other than a report to Vellum under Section 11.4 of the Terms;
  • use the Plugin in breach of the Terms, the Minecraft End User License Agreement, Mojang's usage or commercial guidelines, or any law.

5. Rights the law gives you

5.1 Interoperability. Some laws (for example, in the European Union, the Software Directive 2009/24/EC, and in the United States, 17 U.S.C. § 1201(f)) give you a right to decompile or analyse software to achieve interoperability with other software, which cannot be removed by contract. Section 4 does not restrict any such right. Before relying on it, you agree to ask us at support@vellumdev.com for the information you need, which we will consider providing on reasonable terms, and to use any information you obtain only for that interoperability purpose and not to give it to anyone else except as that law allows.

5.2 Other mandatory rights. Nothing in this EULA limits any right you have that cannot be limited by contract under the law that applies to you.

6. Ownership

The Plugin is licensed, not sold. Vellum and its licensors own and keep all right, title and interest, including all intellectual property rights, in the Plugin, every copy of it and every part of it, however made. Your rights in the Plugin are only those expressly granted in Section 3. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Your content is yours, as the Terms describe.

7. Open source components

The Plugin may include or link to software components licensed under open source licences. Those components are licensed to you under their own licences, which are identified in the Plugin's notices or on request to support@vellumdev.com. To the extent such a licence gives you rights that this EULA restricts, or requires us to offer source code, that licence controls for that component only. Nothing in this EULA restricts what the open source licence of a component allows you to do with that component.

8. Updates, versions and compatibility

8.1 Updates. We may provide updates, patches, fixes and new versions of the Plugin, which are part of the Plugin under this EULA unless they come with their own terms. Some updates may be required to keep using the Service, and an older version may stop working with the Service once a newer version is required.

8.2 Compatibility. The Plugin is designed for particular versions of Minecraft and of server software, as stated in its documentation. Minecraft and server software change outside our control. We do not promise that the Plugin will work with any other version, with any other plugin or modification, or with any hosting provider, or that we will update it for any future version.

8.3 No obligation. We are not obliged to provide updates, maintenance or support for the Plugin except as your plan and the Terms provide.

9. Data the Plugin sends

When the Plugin is linked to the Service, it communicates with the Service to provide it. This includes your Server's identifier and credential, the Plugin and server versions, the content the Studio works on for you, and statistics shown on your Dash (such as player counts). The Plugin also serves resource packs and related files to your players' game clients. What we do with this information is described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for telling your players and staff, as the law requires, that your Server uses the Plugin.

10. Your Server and your responsibilities

You are solely responsible for your Server, its hardware, hosting, configuration, security, backups, other plugins, players, and the content you load onto it with the Plugin. You are responsible for keeping your Server's server.key file secret. Make and keep your own backups before installing, updating or running the Plugin, and before applying content with it. Running any plugin carries a risk of crashes, data loss or world corruption.

11. Term and termination

11.1 Term. This EULA starts when you first download, install or run the Plugin, and continues until terminated.

11.2 Termination by you. You may terminate this EULA at any time by uninstalling the Plugin and deleting all copies of it in your possession or control.

11.3 Termination by us. This EULA, and your licence under it, terminate automatically and without notice if you break any of its terms or the Terms. We may also terminate it on notice if we stop offering the Plugin, or as the Terms allow us to terminate your account.

11.4 Effect. When this EULA terminates, your licence ends, and you must stop using the Plugin and delete every copy of it in your possession or control. Sections 4, 5.1 (as to use of information), 6, 10, 11.4, 12 to 15, and any other provision that by its nature should survive, survive termination.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

THE PLUGIN IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VELLUM DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, SATISFACTORY QUALITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. VELLUM DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLUGIN WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, WORK WITH ANY VERSION OF MINECRAFT, SERVER SOFTWARE, OTHER PLUGIN OR HOST, RUN WITHOUT INTERRUPTION OR ERROR, OR NOT CAUSE CRASHES, LOSS OF DATA OR DAMAGE TO WORLDS. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties; there, these exclusions apply only to the extent the law permits.

13. Limitation of liability

The limitation of liability in Section 18 of the Terms of Service applies to the Plugin and this EULA as if set out here in full. Without limiting it, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, VELLUM WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OF OR DAMAGE TO SERVERS, WORLDS, PLAYER DATA, OTHER PLUGINS OR CONTENT, OR FOR SERVER DOWNTIME, ARISING FROM THE INSTALLATION, UPDATING, USE OR REMOVAL OF THE PLUGIN.

14. Indemnity

Section 19 of the Terms applies to your use of the Plugin and to any breach of this EULA.

15. General

15.1 Export and sanctions. Section 22 of the Terms applies to the Plugin.

15.2 Governing law and disputes. This EULA is governed by the law stated in Section 23 of the Terms, and disputes under it are resolved as Section 21 of the Terms provides, including binding individual arbitration, the class action and jury trial waiver, and the 30-day right to opt out.

15.3 Remedies. You agree that a breach of Section 4 would cause Vellum irreparable harm for which money damages would not be an adequate remedy, and that Vellum may seek an injunction or other equitable relief to stop it, in addition to any other remedy and without having to post a bond where the law allows.

15.4 US Government end users. The Plugin is "commercial computer software" and "commercial computer software documentation" as those terms are used in the Federal Acquisition Regulation and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement. US Government end users acquire it only with the rights set out in this EULA.

15.5 Assignment, severability, waiver, entire agreement. Sections 24.1 to 24.4 and 24.8 of the Terms apply to this EULA. We may assign this EULA, including to a business entity we form to operate the Service.

15.6 Changes. We may change this EULA as Section 20 of the Terms describes. A change applies to versions of the Plugin released after it takes effect, and to your continued use of the Plugin after that date.
